Valves are made by Halkey Roberts, a major supplier to the inflatable boat industry. These valves are the same ones found on many of the major brands of inflatable boats and are made of the finest materials available. When you have inflated the bladder with the foot pump provided be certain to pull the center stem and twist slightly to insure that there is no leakage of air. Listen for any hiss. Then the cover can be placed and twisted closed to prevent accidental deflation.
To deflate the bladder, open the cover, push the stem in and twist to keep it open for complete deflation.
